Early Career and Achievements

Sergey Grigoriev is a renowned Russian checker player representing the Tula region. His passion for the game began at the tender age of seven. In 2004, he earned the title of Master of Sports of Russia. Grigoriev's expertise lies primarily in 64-checker games, including Russian and Brazilian variants. He has also competed internationally in 100-checker matches and is consistently ranked among the top 40 checker players in Russia. His current rating as of January 1, 2022, is 2643. In 2021, Grigoriev achieved a significant milestone by placing 5th in the European 64-Checker Championship held in Cappadocia, Turkey. This performance earned him the norm of Russian Grandmaster.

Coaching and Analytical Contributions

Beyond his competitive endeavors, Grigoriev has dedicated himself to the development of young checker players. Since 2018, he has served as a coach at the MBU SSHOR Yunost, a sports school in Tula. In 2020, he compiled an extensive analytical study on lottery tables for initial moves and positions, spanning 592 variations.
