Early Life and Beginnings
Victor "somedieyoung" Orujev was born in Ukraine. At the tender age of three, his father established a computer club in their garage, which eventually grew to have 9-10 computers. It was there that Victor first encountered Counter-Strike 1.3 at the age of five. From that moment on, he experimented with various games on the computers at his disposal, while also pursuing football.
Competitive Career
In 2004, Viktor attended a major international Counter-Strike tournament in Ukraine as a spectator. At just nine years old, he claimed victory in his first LAN tournament in his hometown. His professional career began in 2017 with 5FRAGS.ORG, where he played in the StarLadder ProSeries XVII tournament, placing 13th-16th.
Team Transitions
In April 2017, Viktor joined Spray'n'pray, placing first in the initial qualifiers for the CS:GO Champions League Season 6. He then moved to Dream, where he showcased his skills in qualifiers for EPICENTER 2017, DolphinCS.org, and the CIS Minor Championship 2018 - Boston 2018.
After leaving Dream, Viktor joined EL'quvet, where he achieved notable results, including defeating Izako Boars and placing 1st-4th at the FCDB Cup 2017. At DreamHack Winter 2017, he and his team placed 33rd-64th.
Team Spirit
In mid-December 2018, Team Spirit signed Viktor as a new player. He became the oldest member of the team behind coach Certus. According to Viktor, he was drawn to the organization based on his previous experience playing with Certus and the favorable conditions offered.
Success with Team Spirit
Together with Team Spirit, Viktor went on a break from June 29th, 2020, to July 23rd, 2020. By the end of the 2020 season, HLTV.org ranked Orujev fourth in the world for pistol round performance.
