Aaron Stevens - American Professional Wrestler
Aaron Stevens, born Aaron Haddad in 1982, is an American professional wrestler. He is best known for his work under the brand 'SmackDown!' of the 'World Wrestling Entertainment' (WWE). Currently, he is competing in Ohio Valley Wrestling and is a member of the Puerto Rico Wrestling Council.
Early Career and WWE
From his early performances, Stevens caught the attention of WWE and was offered a contract. As part of the contract, he participated in a series of trial matches on the show 'Heat,' where he faced off against wrestlers such as Stevie Richards, Team Angle, Johnny Nitro, and Nunzio. During these matches, it was claimed that his fingers were broken by Raven. Later, Haddad returned to WWE territory in Ohio Valley Wrestling, where he competed under the pseudonym Aaron 'The Idol' Stevens. In a home show in 2004, Stevens and Nova defeated Chris Cage and Tank Toland, winning the Southern Tag Team Championship OVW.
Television Championship and SmackDown!
On January 4, 2006, Stevens won the OVW Television Championship, replacing Ken Doane in a triple threat match against Brent Albright and the then-champion CM Punk. Doane was injured during the match, and Stevens was called in as a replacement. With the interference of Punk, who had been previously defeated by Albright in the match, Stevens was able to defeat Brent and capture the championship title. However, in a televised event on March 8, a match against Paul Burchill cost Stevens the title, which was won by Seth Skyfire. On August 4, 2006, Stevens made his debut on 'SmackDown!' where Michelle McCool named him (and K.C. James) as one of her favorites. Later, the two of them faced Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty and, with the help of McCool, emerged victorious.
Rivalries and Return to OVW
In the following week, Stevens and James defeated the WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick in a non-title match. On August 18, Stevens and James ambushed the champion team without warning, starting a storyline feud in which London and Kendrick gained the support of Ashley Massaro (against McCool). Jamie Noble and Kid Kash also briefly joined the feud, as they had their own claims for the tag team title. Eventually, on October 8, Stevens and James challenged the team 'No Mercy' for the championship title but were unsuccessful. After this, the duo was removed from television and returned to Ohio Valley Wrestling.
