Early Life and Junior CareerAgnieszka Savay was born on July 29, 1989, in Pécs, Hungary. Her parents, Zsolt and Terézia, introduced her to tennis at age six, becoming her first coaches and managers. Under their guidance, she achieved significant success in junior tennis.
In 2005, Savay reached the pinnacle of her junior career. She won the French Open and the European Closed Championships in singles, while claiming a runner-up finish at the Australian Open. In doubles, she captured three titles - the French Open, Wimbledon, and the G1 tournament in Melbourne - and finished second at the Australian Open alongside Czech Nicole Franková. Her impressive performances earned her a career-high junior ranking of World No. 2 on June 27, 2005.
Transition to Professional Tennis
After completing her junior career, Savay turned professional and made her WTA Tour debut in 2005. She quickly progressed, reaching her first WTA semifinal in Modena, Italy, in July. By the end of the year, she had broken into the top 200 of the WTA singles rankings.
