Agris Kazelniks, a Latvian strongman, emerged as a contender for the title of the world's strongest man in 2009 and 2010. He was born on July 24, 1973, in Ogre, Latvia. Standing at a height of 189 cm and weighing 160 kg, Agris has established his dominance in the world of strength sports.

Early Life and Strongman Career

Agris Kazelniks earned his reputation as one of Latvia's strongest men by securing the title of the strongest man in the country three times consecutively between 2006 and 2008. In addition to his national achievements, he showcased his strength on the international stage by finishing 9th at the International Federation of Strength Athletes competition in 2006.

From 2008 to 2010, Agris consistently secured top positions in the Strongman Champions League, placing 3rd in Ireland, 2nd in Serbia, and Ukraine in 2010. His impressive records include a maximum leg press of 500 kg, bench press of 240 kg, squat of 390 kg, and deadlift of 400 kg.

Training and Inspiration

Agris Kazelniks dedicates two hours, four days a week to training with barbells and specialized equipment. He began his strongman journey at the age of 27, inspired by the achievements of Latvian weightlifter Raimonds Bergmanis, who also provides psychological support for Agris during major competitions.

Another strongman athlete who garners Agris' admiration is Lithuanian Zydrunas Savickas, who claimed the title of the world's strongest man in 2009. Despite the rigorous training and demanding schedule, Agris remains motivated and passionate about his sport, considering it both a beloved pursuit and a means of relaxation.

Future Plans and Interests

Once Agris Kazelniks concludes his sporting career, he aspires to become a coach for young strength athletes. Alongside his athletic pursuits, he enjoys ice hockey and freestyle wrestling. Agris' advice to aspiring athletes is to start small and gradually build their strength.

Despite his extraordinary physical abilities, Agris encounters amusing situations when traveling by plane. Flight attendants struggle to accommodate him in standard seats due to his size. He holds an affinity for Australia, drives a BMW X5, and dreams of owning a BMW X6.

In recognition of his exceptional strength, Agris Kazelniks set two Guinness World Records. In 2005, he carried a 300 kg load on his shoulders for 20 meters in just 20 seconds. In 2009, he improved upon his previous record by completing the same distance with a 300 kg load in a remarkable 11.40 seconds.
