Early Life and CareerAlan Prost, a French racing driver, was born on February 24, 1955, in Saint-Chamond, near Lyon, France. In his school years, Prost showed promise as a footballer but a nose injury sustained during a match led him to pursue a career in motorsports. He began racing go-karts in 1969 and quickly established himself as a rising star in the sport. In 1973, he enrolled in the renowned French racing school in Le Castellet, and in 1975, he won the prestigious "Volant Elf" prize, which paved the way for his entry into Formula Renault Martini.
Rise to Success
Prost's talent and strategic skills helped him achieve remarkable success early in his career. He won multiple championships in Formula Renault and Formula 3, earning him a reputation as a reliable and consistent driver. In 1980, Prost signed a contract with the McLaren team and finished his first season in Formula 1 with 5 points, placing 15th in the overall championship standings. Ligier Team

The team had a successful run in the 1994 season with Prost as the owner and Tom Walkinshaw as the team principal. In 1995, Prost retired from driving and handed over the reins to his teammate.
