Biography of Albert Dariusz Sosnowski
Albert Dariusz Sosnowski, a former European champion in the heavyweight division, was born on March 7, 1979, in Warsaw, Poland. He started his professional boxing career in July 1998 in Outrup, Denmark, where he knocked out Jan Drobena in the first round. Sosnowski won his first 19 fights, 12 of which were by knockout, and fought in Denmark, Poland, United Kingdom, United States, and the Netherlands.

In July 2001, Sosnowski became the world champion of the WBC youth heavyweight division in Budapest, Bulgaria. He defeated Arthur Cook from Canada by decision, but in the ninth round, Cook knocked him out. Despite this setback, Sosnowski rebounded in November 2008 by defeating British boxer Danny Williams with a technical knockout in the eighth round.

Sosnowski's most notable fight came in April 2009, when he fought Francesco Pianeta for the EBU-EU heavyweight title. The match ended in a draw after twelve rounds of intense competition. On December 18, 2009, Sosnowski became the EBU heavyweight champion by defeating Paolo Vidoz with a unanimous decision (111:117, 108:120, 109:119) at York Hall in London, United Kingdom. Sosnowski showcased his speed and endurance, easily avoiding Vidoz's slow attacks and dominating the fight on points. Although he had opportunities to finish the match early in the fifth and sixth rounds, Vidoz managed to withstand Sosnowski's onslaught and survive until the final round.
Sosnowski was scheduled to defend his title against Audley Harrison, the winner of the popular British series "Prizefighter" and an Olympic gold medalist. However, he decided to relinquish the title in favor of a fight for the WBC world heavyweight title against Ukrainian boxer Vitali Klitschko. The fight took place on May 29, 2010, at the Veltins-Arena stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the home stadium of the Schalke football club. Prior to the bout, Klitschko and Sosnowski held an open training session in Essen, Germany.
Overall, Albert Dariusz Sosnowski's boxing career showcased his skill and determination as he competed against tough opponents in multiple countries. His achievements as a former European champion and his willingness to face top-level competition solidified his reputation as a formidable heavyweight boxer.
