Little is known about this German poet from the mid-13th century. He is presumed to be the author of the Middle High German heroic epics "Goldemar," "Eckenlied," "Sigenot," and "Virginal" from the cycle of tales about Dietrich of Bern, whose distant prototype is believed to be the Ostrogoth king Theodoric.
