Alessandro Preziosi was born on April 19, 1973, in Avellino, Italy. Growing up in Naples, he received a classical education at the Umberto I Lyceum. Initially following in his parents' footsteps as lawyers, Alessandro graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law at the University of Naples Federico II. However, his passion for acting emerged in 1995 when he was cast as Laertes in Antonio Calende's production of Shakespeare's "Hamlet." This experience prompted him to pursue a career in the arts, leading him to enroll at the Milan Academy of Amateur Dramatics.
Film and Television Success
Preziosi's debut performance on stage under the pseudonym Axel Preziosi earned him recognition, and he subsequently abandoned his legal aspirations. In 1999, he made his television debut in the soap opera "Life in Italian." After the show's cancellation, he returned to the stage, performing in Calende's adaptation of Aeschylus's "Oresteia" trilogy.
His rise to fame came in 2002 with his portrayal of the protagonist in the television series "Elisa di Rivombrosa," a historical romance set in 18th-century Italy. The series became a huge success, establishing Preziosi and his co-star Vittoria Puccini as national stars. They received the prestigious Italian Telegatto Award for their exceptional performances.
Critical Acclaim and International Recognition
Preziosi's most critically acclaimed work came with the 2008 miniseries "Commissioner De Luca," for which he was awarded the Best Television Film prize at the Venice Film Festival and the Agrigento Efebo D'Oro for Best Adaptation of a Literary Work. He received similar recognition for his masterful portrayal of the main character.
In 2009, he co-founded the Khora Theatre company with Tommaso Mattei Aldo Allegrini, which has flourished to this day. The theater's repertoire focuses on classical masterpieces and original works, including "Hamlet," "Don Juan," and "Romeo and Juliet." Khora Theatre actively supports the Adricesta charity, which provides assistance to children with cancer.
Preziosi has demonstrated his versatility in roles such as a gay man in "Blank Gunshots" (2010) and the charismatic heartthrob in the television series "Love and Revenge" (2011) and "Beauty and the Beast" (2014) with Blanca Suárez. Alessandro Preziosi is the father of two children. His first son, Andrea Eduardo, was born on July 4, 1995, to Scarlett Zito.
In 2002, while filming "Elisa di Rivombrosa," he met Vittoria Puccini, with whom he had a long-term relationship. They dated from 2004 to 2010 and welcomed their daughter, Elena, on May 16, 2006. Despite their separation, Preziosi and Puccini maintain a close relationship as co-parents. Following his relationship with Puccini, he began dating Greta Carandini, the daughter of a renowned university professor who is 17 years his junior.

In January 2019, Preziosi starred as Judge Marco Lo Bianco in the Italian television film "The Freedom to Choose." He continues to actively promote the miniseries "NonMentire" (2019), where he co-stars with Greta Scarano.
Concurrently, Preziosi remains dedicated to his theatrical career. In March 2019, he concluded the performances of "Vincent Van Gogh - The Smell of White" by the Khora Theatre company, where he played the titular artist.
