Early Life and Education

Alexander Borisovich Danilchenko was born on September 24, 1944, in Stavropol, Russia. His passion for the arts was ignited by his grandmother, who frequently took him to local theater performances. Inspired by the atmosphere and energy of the stage, he decided to pursue a career in acting.

In 1961, Danilchenko graduated high school and enrolled in the State Theater Studio at the M. Yu. Lermontov Stavropol Academic Drama Theater. While still a student, he began honing his acting skills by performing in small street theater productions.

Theater and Film Debut

After graduating from the studio, Danilchenko joined the Stavropol Academic Drama Theater as a professional actor. He made his cinematic debut in 1970 in a small role as an officer in the film "Black Dozen." However, acting opportunities were limited in his early years, and he had a nine-year hiatus from the screen.

Danilchenko returned to film in 1979 in the movie "Excuse Me, Goodbye," where he played a supplier. He remained relatively unknown until 1987, when he landed a role in the miniseries "Special-Purpose Squad," based on the book "This Happened Near Rovno" by Dmitry Medvedev.

Rise to Prominence

Danilchenko's film career took off after 2005 when he began receiving more substantial roles. His meticulous preparation for each character played a crucial role in his success. He became a familiar face on television, appearing in popular series such as "Mukhtar's Return" (2005) and "Anti-Sniper" (2008).

One of Danilchenko's most memorable roles was as Grandpa Petro in the comedy series "Once Upon a Time near Poltava" (2014), which ran for 13 seasons. He also portrayed the eccentric landlord in the political satire "Servant of the People" (2015).
