Biography of Algirdas Matulionis

Algirdas Matulionis is a Lithuanian actor, screenwriter, director, and the head of the Union of Cinematographers of Lithuania. He studied at the Faculty of Economics, but in 1972 he graduated from the Faculty of Acting at the Lithuanian Conservatory. Since 1967, he has been an actor at the Kaunas Drama Theater. Matulionis has also appeared in films, gaining nationwide popularity for his roles in "Double Trap," "Executioner," "Hostage," and "Genius." In total, he has appeared in over 30 films, predominantly portraying negative characters. After the collapse of the USSR, he has rarely been seen in films. Since 1994, he has been the head of the Union of Cinematographers of Lithuania. Algirdas Matulionis is married to actress Nina Radaite, and they have two children - a son named Povilas and a daughter named Egle.
