Biography of Allison Fisher
Allison Fisher, an English former professional snooker player, became the first female snooker player to achieve a century break at the World Championship with a score of 103 in 1991.
Early Life
Allison Fisher was born on February 24, 1968, in Chesunt, Hertfordshire, England. She won her first world title in snooker at the age of 17.
Snooker Career
Throughout her career, Fisher won over 80 national titles and 11 World Championship titles, including 7 in singles, 4 in doubles (3 of which were with Steve Davis). She made history by becoming the first female snooker player to achieve a century break at the World Championship with a score of 103 in 1991. Her manager, Barry Hearn, invited Fisher to participate in the Premier League alongside male players.
In her first tournament in the 1991/1992 season, she defeated renowned players like Neil Foulds, Mike Hallett, Tony Drago, and even tied with Tony Meo.
Move to the United States
In 1995, Fisher relocated to the United States and transitioned to playing pool. She went on to win an additional 64 different titles, including four World Championship titles. Fisher was named "Player of the Year" a remarkable 11 times.
Hall of Fame
On June 8, 2009, Allison Fisher was inducted into the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame. She currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
