Volodymyr Ivanovich Skripka was born on June 16, 1927, in Kremenchuk, a city in present-day Poltava Oblast, Ukraine. Growing up in a working-class family, he developed a keen interest in technology. In 1954, Skripka graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Cinema Engineers, equipping him with the technical knowledge necessary for a career in sound engineering.

After graduating, Skripka joined the renowned Kyiv Film Studio named after Alexander Dovzhenko. Starting as a senior technician, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming an engineer and eventually a sound engineer. Skripka left an enduring legacy with his contributions to over a dozen films.
