Anderson Hayes Cooper, a renowned American journalist, was born on June 3, 1967, in New York. From a young age, he gained his first experience in the media industry when he became a model for a photoshoot by Diane Arbus for "Harper's Bazaar". At the age of 3, he appeared on "The Tonight Show" alongside his mother, actress Gloria Vanderbilt. Between the ages of 10 and 13, Cooper participated in shoots for "Ralph Lauren", "Calvin Klein", and "Macy's".

When he was 17 years old, Cooper traveled to South Africa while still attending Dalton School. During his time there, he contracted malaria and had to be hospitalized, but the trip left an indelible impression on him. In 1985, after graduating from high school, he successfully gained admission to Yale University, where he dedicated four years to studying political science and international relations. During his time at Yale, Cooper interned at the Central Intelligence Agency.

Despite lacking formal journalism education, Cooper decided to pursue a career in journalism. He became, as he admits, a true "news junkie". His first unsuccessful attempt to join ABC did not dampen his determination. While working as an editor for the youth news agency "Channel One", he and a friend forged a press pass and independently traveled to Burma, where he closely interacted with student protesters. "Channel One" gladly purchased his amateur news reports. After Burma, Anderson Cooper lived in Vietnam for a year, studying the language at Hanoi University. He then prepared extensive material for "Channel One" about Vietnamese life and culture. He went on to work in Somalia, Bosnia, and Rwanda.

In 1995, Cooper became a news correspondent for ABC and rose to the position of assistant host of the late-night program "World News Now". By 2001, he was already working for SNN on "American Morning", and the following year he hosted SNN's prime-time weekend show. As a reporter during this period, he covered events such as the tsunami in Sri Lanka, the "Cedar Revolution" in Lebanon, the death of Pope John Paul II, and the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. In August 2005, his main focus was the famine in Nigeria. In the same year, due to the high number of hurricanes, "NewsNight" expanded from one hour to two hours.

In early 2007, Cooper signed a long-term contract with SNN, allowing him to continue his work as a correspondent for "60 Minutes" and reportedly doubling his salary to $4 million. In October 2007, together with Sanjay Gupta and Jeff Corwin, Anderson began working on the documentary film "Planet in Peril" for SNN. In December 2008, the premiere of the second part of the film, "Planet in Peril: Battle Lines", took place, now produced with the support of "National Geographic Explorer".
