Biography of Angela Chobanu
Angela Chobanu is a Moldovan theater and film actress. She was born into a Moldovan family and graduated from the School-Studio of the Moscow Art Theatre (course of V.N. Bogomolov) in 1992. During that time, she was invited to the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre in Chisinau, where she still works to this day.
Notable Roles
Some of her memorable roles include Pietra Cotes in "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Mademoiselle Cucu in "The Nameless Star," M. Sebastian and Zoe Trahanake in "The Lost Letter" by I.L. Caragiale, Isadora Duncan in "When Isadora Dances" and "Cind Isadora Dansa," Sonia in "Uncle Vanya" by Anton Chekhov, Lucinda in "The Doctor in Spite of Himself" by Moliere, and Lady Torrance in "The Snake Skin" based on the play "Orpheus Descending" by Tennessee Williams.
Film Career
In 2005, Angela Chobanu was invited by film director Valeriu Jereghi to play a role in the movie "Creation of Love." This collaboration led to a strong creative partnership between the director and the actress, inspiring Jereghi to make his theater debut by directing the theatrical-television production of "The Snake Skin" (based on the play "Orpheus Descending" by Tennessee Williams) with Angela Chobanu in the lead role.
Angela Chobanu is also the first member of the "Actors Ensemble" at the theater.
