Anna Chlumsky is an American film and television actress. She was born on December 3, 1980, in the United States. Chlumsky comes from a creative family, with her mother Nancy working as a flight attendant and her father Frank being a professional musician. Her mother also had a background in acting and occasionally performed in the theater.

Chlumsky's career in the entertainment industry began at a young age. Just 10 months after her birth, she was offered a role in a commercial. She went on to star in various children's shows, pose for glossy magazine photoshoots, and host segments for children's programs.

In 1988, Chlumsky decided to venture into film and theater, as she grew tired of the modeling industry. She made her theatrical debut in the play "Annie" and also appeared in productions of "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Music Man." In 1989, she made her film debut with a small role in "Uncle Buck," where she worked alongside Macaulay Culkin.

Chlumsky's breakthrough came in 1991 with her role in the film "My Girl." This project marked her second collaboration with Culkin, but this time their roles were of equal importance.
