Biography of Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick (born on August 9, 1985) is an American film and theater actress. She is best known for her successful roles in the 2003 film "Camp," the 2007 comedy "Rocket Science," and her supporting role in the 2008 film "Twilight."

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Kendrick discovered her passion for acting at the age of ten when her parents took her from her hometown of Portland, Maine, to audition in New York. Her first role was as Dina in the Broadway musical "High Society" in August 1998, when she was just twelve years old. This performance earned her the Theatre World Award, Drama Desk Award, and a Tony nomination, making her the second youngest nominee in the history of the Tony Awards.
Acting Career
After her successful debut, Kendrick's career continued to flourish. She was offered roles in various productions, including the musical "A Little Night Music." Eventually, she ventured into the world of cinema. In 2003, she made her big-screen debut in the musical comedy "Camp," for which she was nominated for the Chlotrudis Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance.
In 2007, Kendrick starred in her second film, "Rocket Science," where she portrayed the talkative high school debater Ginny Ryerson. Despite finding the role challenging, particularly after watching recordings of real debate competitions, Kendrick's efforts were highly praised by critics. Once again, she received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award, this time for Best Supporting Actress.
Later in 2007, Kendrick auditioned for the role of Jessica Stanley in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's novel "Twilight." Although she initially auditioned for group scenes, she had to leave due to illness. However, she returned later and ultimately landed the role. Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg stated that Kendrick's character was a combination of Jessica Stanley and Lauren Mallory from the book series. Kendrick reprised her role as Jessica in the sequel, "New Moon."
In addition to her work in the "Twilight" series, Kendrick also secured a role in the upcoming 2009 drama film "Elsewhere."
