Born on December 19, 1895, in the village of Vasyl'ivka in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine, the actor was destined for a life on stage.
Theatrical Journey
In 1915, he embarked on his theatrical career, joining the troupes of A. Sukhodolsky and L. Sabinin. Subsequently, he performed with the First Mobile Ukrainian Theater and the Voroshilovgrad Worker's Theater. His travels extended to theaters in Siberia, where he honed his craft.
Acting in Kyiv
From 1947 to 1957, the actor found a home at the Kyiv Theater for Young Spectators. During this period, he also graced the silver screen, making his film debut as Solopiy Cherevyk in Nikolai Ekk's "Sorochynsky Yarmark."
Cinematic Success
In 1937, the actor joined the Kyiv Studio of Artistic Films, where he remained until 1947. His contributions to the cinema earned him the title of Honored Actor of the Ukrainian SSR.
Later Years and Legacy
On June 24, 1957, the actor passed away in Kyiv. His memory lives on through his body of work and the impact he had on Ukrainian theater and cinema.
