Armenian State Figure: Aram Arutyunyan
Aram Khachikovich Arutyunyan (Armenian: Արամ Խաչիկովիչ Արությունյան) was born on July 20, 1967 in Yegvard, Armenia. He is an Armenian state figure who has held various positions in government and public service.
Education and Early Career
From 1987 to 1992, Arutyunyan studied at the Yerevan Institute of Engineering and Construction, where he obtained a degree in engineering and construction. During his studies, he also worked as a laborer on the Nairi road construction site from 1984 to 1985. After completing his studies, he served in the Soviet Army from 1985 to 1987.
Professional and Political Career
In 1988, Arutyunyan became the secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Nairi Agrofirm. He held this position until 1992. From 1992 to 1994, he engaged in commercial activities in the Russian Federation. In 1994, he became the director of the state enterprise "Armincomobslyuzhivanie," a position he held until 1996. He then served as the director of the state enterprise "Armplodoproduktstia" from 1996 to 1999.
In 1999, Arutyunyan was elected as a member of the Parliament and served on the permanent commission for social issues, healthcare, and ecology. He was re-elected as a member of Parliament on May 25, 2003, and became a member of the permanent commission for financial, credit, budgetary, and economic issues. He joined the "Orinats Yerkir" party.
From 2004 to 2007, Arutyunyan held the position of Minister of Urban Development of Armenia. In June 2007, he was appointed as the Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia.
