Aram Asatryan was an Armenian singer and songwriter, known as one of the best founders and performers of the modern Armenian urban song genre called rabiz. He was a star of the Armenian and international music scene.

Early Life and Career

Aram Asatryan was born into a family of Armenian refugees. From a young age, he had a passion for music, but he gained recognition in 1984-1985 with his song "Near a Pure Spring." In 1985, he formed his own group together with Levon Abrahamyan, Khachik Saakyan, Suren Gasparian, and Simon Sisoyan. He performed for Armenian volunteers, uplifting their spirits with patriotic and love songs during the Karabakh conflict.

Popularity and Worldwide Performances

Aram Asatryan's melodious voice and beautiful melodies gained immense popularity among Armenians, making him a symbol of Armenian folk music in the 1990s. He performed in Asia, Europe, Russia, Arab countries, the United States, and many cities in Armenia and Karabakh. As a prolific songwriter, he penned over 500 songs, including the popular track "Bales" which later inspired Pierre Narcisse's song "About Love, Love."

Business Ventures and Recognition

Aram Asatryan also owned the company "Star Records." In 2003, he was honored with the title of "Gusan" by the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. Throughout his life, Asatryan possessed great inner potential and a deep love for music, which his friends marveled at.
