Biography of Arkady Dukhin

Arkady Dukhin, a popular singer, poet, and composer, was born in Belarus in 1963. He spent his childhood in Bobruisk, where he began showing interest in music at a young age. By the age of twelve, he was already performing on local stages and participating in concerts with famous Belarusian ensembles. At fifteen, Arkady and his parents immigrated to Israel, where he continued to develop his musical skills and wrote mainly music. In 1980, he formed a band called "Haverim shel Natasha" (Natasha's Friends) together with musician Mikhail Shitrit and three other musicians. The group gained popularity in the country, and all three of their albums received favorable reviews.

After the disbandment of "Haverim," Dukhin's musical style remained consistent, although he expanded his repertoire to include jazz compositions. He released his first solo album, "Kakh Khochu, Tak i Budet" (As I Want, So It Will Be), in 1989. Throughout the years, Dukhin released several more albums, including "Achlazaorim" (Returning) in 1993, "Lovestar" in 1998, and "Domino" in 1999.

Dukhin's music became a harmonious blend of Israeli influences, while still incorporating elements from his Belarusian roots. In 2004, he released the album "Bolshe, Chem Ya" (More Than Me), which included songs from his twenty-year-long career. His last album, "Mechty Dlya Vzroslykh" (Dreams for Adults), was released in 2006 and sold over 700,000 copies across the country.

In addition to his music career, Dukhin composed music for several films and plays, receiving the Israeli Oscar award in 1995 for his contributions to theater and cinema. He was also recognized by the Association of Poets, Composers, and Musicians (ACUM) in 1998 for his poetic and compositional work. In 2001, he was named the best composer in the country and won first place in the Israeli pop music competition for performers.

Recently, Dukhin has embarked on a new project with a group called "Limonim" (Lemons). He has also returned to singing and writing songs in Russian, his native language. After visiting his hometown of Bobruisk, he felt inspired to reconnect with his Russian heritage and create music in his mother tongue. Dukhin believes that this new direction will attract a broader audience, both in Israel and Russia, and he is determined to work hard to achieve success.
