International Success with Porto
In 1996, Herzog embarked on an international adventure, joining the prestigious Portuguese club Porto. Though his tenure was brief, with only 11 appearances and one goal, he played a pivotal role in the team's triumph as Portuguese champions.
Return to Familiar Grounds
After his brief stint in Portugal, Herzog returned to Austria and joined Rapid Vienna in 1997. He once again displayed his midfield prowess, playing 96 matches and scoring 9 goals.
