Biography of Eshkol Nevo

Eshkol Nevo is an Israeli novelist and graduate of the psychology faculty at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He works as an author and copywriter in major advertising agencies, teaches a course on "Developing Advertising Thinking" at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and also teaches in colleges.

Early Life and Education

Eshkol Nevo was born in Jerusalem and spent his childhood traveling between Jerusalem and Detroit. He served as an intelligence officer in the army. Nevo is a descendant of the late Israeli Prime Minister Levi Eshkol. Growing up in a family involved in the political passions of Israel, it influenced his works. This line is particularly evident in his book "Homesick."

Literary Works

Nevo's book "Homesick" has been a bestseller in Israel, selling over 60,000 copies and holding the top spot in the rankings for over a year. It has also been awarded the prestigious Sapir literary prize. His other novel, "A Wish to Be Righter," brought him special pleasure during the writing process. According to Nevo himself, as soon as the characters came to life in his mind, they led him and compelled him to sit at his desk every morning. He felt responsible for them and was the only one who could determine their fate.

Recognition and International Representation

Eshkol Nevo's works are represented abroad by the Institute for the Translation of Israeli Literature. His captivating novel "Homesick" tells the story of four couples living next door to each other in a small village. Each couple has their own story and life, but soon their narratives become intertwined, and everything that once seemed stable and secure begins to crumble like a house of cards.
