From 1878 to 1882, he embarked on a global tour, showcasing his talent in the United States, South America, Asia, and Australia.

Professor and Mentor

In 1894, Wilhelmj assumed the role of professor at the Guildhall School of Music. Among his notable students were Néman Franko and Jan Hambourg. Wilhelmj's influence extended beyond teaching; he significantly contributed to the academic music repertoire.

The "Air on the G String"

One of Wilhelmj's most enduring contributions to classical music is commonly attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach. The renowned "Air on the G String" is, in fact, an adaptation by Wilhelmj. He reimagined the second movement of Bach's Orchestral Suite BWV 1068 for solo violin and piano. By transposing the aria from D major to C major, Wilhelmj enabled the entire piece to be played on a single string, showcasing his technical prowess.
