Leadership at the Israel Security Agency (ISA)
In 2000, Dichter was appointed as the head of the ISA, Israel's internal security agency. During his tenure, which lasted until 2005, he played a pivotal role in combating terrorism and ensuring the country's stability.
Entry into Politics
In December 2005, Dichter publicly joined the Kadima party created by then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. It was widely believed that Sharon had promised him the position of Minister of Internal Security in exchange for his support.
