Early Career and Breakthrough

Born on March 18, 1997, in Ramotswa, Botswana, Thebe began his running career under the guidance of coach Mogomotsi Otsetswe. His breakthrough came in 2014 at the African Youth Games in Gaborone, where he earned bronze in the 100 meters and gold in the 200 meters. The same year, he competed at the World Junior Championships in Eugene and the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, securing a silver medal in the 200 meters behind American Noah Lyles.

Senior Success

From 2016 onwards, Thebe transitioned to the senior level. At the African Championships in Durban, he triumphed in the 4x400-meter relay and the individual 400 meters. His successful run continued at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, where he claimed silver in the 4x400-meter relay.
