Education and Early Career

Bagul Nurmyradova, a Turkmen stateswoman who later served as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Culture and Media, was born in Annau, Turkmenistan. In 1994, she graduated from the Turkmen State Institute of Culture as a librarian-bibliographer. In 2011, she completed her education at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Turkmenistan.

Rise in the Media

From April 2004 to August 2010, Nurmyradova served as Director of the TV channel "Miras." Her exceptional command of the Turkmen language and eloquent diction caught the attention of both television viewers and the President's entourage.

Government Service

In August 2010, Nurmyradova was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture and Broadcasting of Turkmenistan. She later became Head of the Department of Culture at the Cabinet of Ministers in December 2010.

Controversial Tenure as Deputy Governor

Nurmyradova rose to prominence in 2011 when she served as Deputy Hyakim of Dashoguz Velayat for Education, Culture, Healthcare, and Sports. Her attempt to enforce the wearing of traditional Turkmen trousers (balaki) for women sparked controversy. Additionally, she was known for using foul language towards subordinates.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers

In February 2012, Nurmyradova was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Culture. However, she was relieved of her position on April 4, 2014, due to health reasons.

Return to Education

Since September 1, 2014, Nurmyradova has been a lecturer at the Turkmen State Institute of Culture.
