Early Life and Education
Barbara Cupisti, an Italian actress and filmmaker, was born with a passion for the arts. After attending a classical high school where she pursued ballet, she moved to Rome at age 18. There, she won the di Nervi festival in 1980. However, her true calling emerged at the Silvio d'Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Acting Career
Cupisti's film debut came in Tinto Brass's "The Key." Subsequently, she starred primarily in low-budget horror films directed by Italian filmmakers such as Dario Argento and Michele Soavi. Throughout the 1990s, she frequently appeared in television productions.
Transition to Documentaries
In 2002, Cupisti shifted her focus from acting to directing documentaries. She has since crafted films that explore social and political issues. Her latest work, "Forgotten Childhoods, Forgotten Dreams," delves into the realities of children living in Israel and Palestine.
