Bartholomew Freundlich, born on January 17, 1970, is an American director, screenwriter, and producer. Freundlich attended Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he specialized in cinematography and tele-kinoproduction. He chose the university mostly by chance due to his love for cinema, but it turned out to be a fortunate decision for his career.
Early Career
Before creating his first feature film, "Hired Hands," Freundlich made a short film called "A Dog Race on Alaska" and a parody documentary film also titled "Hired Hands." "Hired Hands" received positive reviews and won several awards at the Sundance Film Festival. He also worked as a video conference recorder to support himself financially. With the success of "A Dog Race," Freundlich was able to take some time off and focus on polishing the screenplay for "Hired Hands" and another unnamed project, which later became his first full-length film.
The Legend of Fingerprints
Freundlich's independent comedy-drama "The Legend of Fingerprints" was the result of his unnamed project. The film tells the story of four siblings reuniting with their eccentric family for a Thanksgiving dinner.
