Early Life and Club Career Beginnings

Bartosz Bereszyński, a Polish defender, was born in Poznań, Poland. His football journey commenced with local youth teams, including Warta Poznań and Lech Poznań. In 2009, he joined Lech Poznań's senior team and made his Ekstraklasa debut on March 21, 2010, as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Jagiellonia Białystok.

Stint with Warta Poznań

Berezyński's playing time was limited at Lech Poznań, prompting a loan move to Warta Poznań in the First League for the 2011/12 season. He featured regularly for Warta, scoring a decisive goal in a 1-0 home win against Ruch Radzionków.

Return to Lech Poznań and European Debut

Berezyński returned to Lech Poznań for the 2012/13 season and established himself as a regular starter. He also made his European debut in the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds.

Transfer to Legia Warsaw

In January 2013, Berezyński moved to Legia Warsaw, where he claimed two Polish Championship titles in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. He registered his first goal for Legia on June 1, 2014, against his former club Lech Poznań, sealing a 2-0 win for the hosts.

UEFA Suspension and Champions League Debut

During the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League, Berezyński was controversially red-carded in a match against Apollon Limassol. This led to a three-match suspension, which UEFA deemed was not served in full when he made a substitute appearance in the Champions League qualifier against Celtic. As a result, Legia was awarded a 0-3 technical forfeit, sending them to the Europa League.

International Career

Berezyński has represented Poland at youth and under-21 levels. His senior international debut came on June 4, 2013, in a friendly against Liechtenstein.
