Childhood and Education

Bekturdy Dyussupov was born on October 25, 1920, in the village of Teren-Uzyak in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan. He earned a higher legal education and became a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan and a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR for six terms.

Military Service

In October 1940, Dyussupov joined the Red Army and served in the 2nd Rifle Regiment in Tallinn. He then became a cadet in a military-political училище (training institution) in February 1941. From November 1941 to April 1942, he served as a political instructor for a company on the North-West and Kaliningrad fronts.

Legal Career

Dyuussupov returned to Kazakhstan in May 1942 and became an assistant prosecutor in the Alma-Ata Oblast. In May 1944, he was appointed deputy prosecutor of the Taldy-Kurgan Oblast, where he graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Law Institute in 1946.

From June 1947 to January 1950, Dyussupov worked as an investigator for the Kazakh SSR Prosecutor's Office, handling major cases. He then served as prosecutor of the Tselinograd Oblast (now Akmola) from January 1950 to June 1952.

Judicial Leadership

Dyuussupov became the first deputy prosecutor of the Kazakh SSR in June 1952, a position he held until June 1962. He was then appointed chairman of the Supreme Court of the Kazakh SSR, where he served from June 1962 to September 1970.

Minister of Justice

In September 1970, Dyussupov was appointed Minister of Justice of the Kazakh SSR, a role he held until his retirement in September 1984.

Retirement and Legacy

After his retirement, Dyussupov received numerous awards and honors, including the "For Combat Merits" medal, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and the title of "Honored Lawyer of the Kazakh SSR." In 2005, a memorial plaque was installed on the house in Almaty where he lived to commemorate his service in the Great Patriotic War.
