Early Life and Family
Bella Hadid was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, in a family of Palestinian origin. Her father, Mohamed Hadid, is an American multimillionaire, and her mother, Yolanda Hadid, is a former American model. Bella has an older sister, Gigi Hadid, who is also a model, a younger brother named Anwar, two older half-sisters from her father's side, Marielle and Alana, and five step-sisters from her stepfather, Canadian singer David Foster.
In an interview, Bella mentioned that her parents have always been hardworking individuals. She started working at the age of 14 in a juice shop, making smoothies and working at the cash register. She also spent hours washing dishes and cleaning blenders.
Bella and her siblings initially grew up on a ranch in Santa Barbara before moving to Malibu when she started attending elementary school. Personal Life and Career Expansion
In July 2014, Bella was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Her driver's license was suspended for one year, and she received a six-month conditional sentence. As part of her punishment, Bella was required to perform 25 hours of community service and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for a total of 20 hours.
Bella started dating Canadian singer The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, in 2015. They met in April at the Coachella music and arts festival.
