Biography of Bengü Erden

Bengü Erden is a popular Turkish singer who developed an interest in music during her early school years when she attended a concert by the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. She played the lead role in the stage production of "Oliver Twist" in Izmir and took singing lessons from the general director of the Izmir State Conservatory, Müfit Bayrış.

In 1998, Bengü won second place in the Pop Show '98 with a song written by Müfit Bayrış. She furthered her music education at the Istanbul Academy and spent three years singing under the accompaniment of Tayfun Sandoğan.

Her debut album, "Hoş Geldin" (Welcome), was released on July 3, 2000, after three and a half years of preparation. Bengü has performed approximately three hundred concerts both in her homeland and abroad.

On December 25, 2004, she made her debut as a television presenter on ATV channel. However, her real success came on May 30, 2005, when she released her second album, "Vağlasan Durmam" (I Won't Stop Even if You Tie Me). Her album "Taktik" (Tactics), released on June 12, 2007, along with the song "Korkma Kalbim" (Don't Be Afraid, My Heart), only further established Bengü's popularity.

In the summer of 2008, Bengü released her fourth album, "Gezegen" (Planet), and a music video was filmed for the opening track of the same name.

Her fifth album, "İki Melek" (Two Angels), was released in the summer of 2009 by the studio "Avrupa Müzik". The music videos for the songs "İki Melek" and "Kocaman Öpüyorum" (I'm Kissing You Tight) reached the top spot on the Billboard Turkey chart. This album also earned Bengü the title of Best Pop Singer at the Thirteenth Istanbul FM Music Awards.
