Early Life and Karting Career
Born in Germany, Schneider developed a passion for racing at a young age. He began his racing journey in karting and quickly demonstrated his natural talent. After several years in junior karting series, Schneider won the German Karting Championship in 1980. Two years later, in 1982, he became the European Karting Champion as part of the national team. In 1983, Schneider added the African Karting Championship to his list of accomplishments.
Transition to Formula Racing
In the following years, Schneider moved on to compete in various Formula Ford championships across Europe. In 1986, he entered the German Formula Three Championship, and the following year, in 1987, he claimed the title of champion. Schneider's success caught the attention of Erich Zakowski, who signed him to race for his Zakspeed team in Formula 1 in 1988 and 1989. However, the small German team struggled to achieve impressive results, and Schneider only managed to qualify for nine Grand Prix races.
Return to Touring Car Racing

Throughout his career, Schneider achieved remarkable success in the DTM championship, winning the title five times. He also became a champion in the FIA GT series, solidifying his reputation as a top-class driver.
