Blanca Ramirez: The Youngest Marathon Runner in the World
Setting a Challenging GoalBlanca Ramirez, a 12-year-old marathon runner, is a young American girl who has set a remarkable goal of running marathon distances on all seven continents before her 13th birthday. While many people may not understand the appeal of running over 40 kilometers in extreme weather conditions, marathon races have been attracting increasing numbers of participants. Blanca Ramirez, residing in California, had already completed several marathons by the age of 12. Her ambitious objective was to become the youngest marathon runner in the world to conquer the distances on all seven continents, and she aimed to achieve this before turning 13.

A Journey Across the Continents
Blanca Ramirez's journey began with conquering marathon distances in Asia, North America, and Africa. South America is next on her list, followed by Australia, Antarctica, and Europe. It is worth noting that during her races, Blanca also raises funds for the charitable organization "Operation Smile," which provides surgical operations and assistance to children born with cleft lips and palates.

By the age of 12, Blanca had already gained significant marathon experience, having run races in Mongolia, China, Rwanda, and the United States. Additionally, she has a deep passion for traveling and exploring landmarks in different countries. Notably, her adventures have included climbing the Great Wall of China and visiting the genocide memorial in Rwanda.

Balancing School and Athletics
Blanca Ramirez is currently in the seventh grade and attends school while pursuing her marathon goals. Her father financially supports her trips, with each journey costing approximately $5,000. However, her planned expedition to Antarctica in 2015 was more expensive, totaling around $10,000.
Blanca's idol is Nadia Ruiz, who completed 100 marathons by the age of 28. Now, Blanca aspires to break the current world record for completing marathon distances on all seven continents, which is held by 14-year-old American runner Winter Vinecki. If Blanca maintains her pace, she will soon surpass this record.
Unwavering Support
Throughout her marathon endeavors on various continents, Blanca's father has remained by her side. He accompanies her on a bicycle, ensuring she has water and providing parental support. However, the financial aspect of Blanca's endeavors has been a considerable burden for her family. As a result, Blanca actively seeks sponsors to support her journey.
