Childhood and Early LifeBulelani Vukwana was born on February 9, 1973, in South Africa. Little is known about his childhood or family background.
Security Guard Career
Vukwana joined 'Gray Security Services' and worked as a security guard. However, he faced challenges in his personal life, particularly in his relationship with Noluvuyo Mbenya.
The Deadly Rampage
On February 9, 2002, Vukwana's life took a tragic turn. He visited Mbenya's home to reconcile after a dispute, but she refused to let him in. Enraged, he went to a nearby bar and shot and wounded Nosisi Skweyiya and killed a patron.
After returning to Mbenya's house, Vukwana shot her and her father. He then held the remaining family members hostage in the house.
Vukwana next killed Lindiwe Ntoni in a neighboring house. He then hijacked a car, killing the driver and demanding a gun and phone from his wife.
Vukwana drove around, randomly shooting at pedestrians. Despite giving his hostage a promise of life, he also shot and killed her.
The Police Pursuit and Suicide
Vukwana attempted to evade the police but was cornered. Rather than surrender, he shot himself in the head, ending the horrific killing spree.
Aftermath
The tragic events left 11 people dead and 6 injured. One of the wounded victims, an 18-year-old boy, was left paralyzed. Vukwana's actions shocked South Africa and raised questions about violence and mental health in the country.
