Early Life and Childhood

Caleb Landry Jones was born on December 7, 1989, in Garland, Texas, and grew up in nearby Richardson with his younger brother, Joshua. Diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as a child, Jones developed a deliberately unkempt appearance as an adult, unfazed by wrinkled or dirty clothes and unkempt hair. From an early age, Jones's artistic inclinations were evident. His parents allowed him to paint on the floors of their home, his mother introduced him to ballet and tap dancing, and instilled in him a love of great cinema. As a teenager, Jones developed a passion for music and emulated the style of his idol, Bob Dylan.

Music and Film Beginnings

In 2009, Jones formed the rock trio Robert Jones with friends, releasing their debut album "Men and Their Horses" that same year. However, the band disbanded a couple of years later, with Jones shifting his focus to a career in Hollywood while the other members pursued education. Jones's film credits began amassing in 2007, with small roles in "No Country for Old Men," "Superbad," and "The Social Network." He also appeared in two episodes of the television series "Breaking Bad."

Breakout Roles and Critical Acclaim

Jones's breakthrough came with his performance as Banshee in the 2011 superhero film "X-Men: First Class." Despite growing up in a religious household that forbade comic books, Jones excelled in the role. The film's cast received a Teen Choice Award nomination for their on-screen chemistry. Jones went on to appear in supporting roles in "Contraband" (2012) and "Byzantium" (2012), and nabbed his first lead role in the horror film "Antiviral" (2012). In "Nitram" (2020), Jones portrayed Martin Bryant, who perpetrated the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania, Australia. To better understand his character, Jones consumed excessive meat pies, recorded himself with a video camera, and scribbled on paper.

Personal Life

Jones has been private about his personal life, leading to speculation about relationships with co-stars. However, he met artist Katia Zvereva in New York City in 2019.
