Carrie Howe: Olympian Sailor

Carrie Howe is an accomplished American sailor and member of the United States Sailing Team. She is set to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing as part of the three-person Yngling crew.

Early Life and Education

Howe was born on May 13, 1981 in Michigan. She began sailing at a young age, around the age of eight. She graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School and went on to attend Boston College, where she earned a degree in 2003.

Sailing Career

Howe joined the US Sailing Team Alphagraphics and the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. She became part of a formidable trio alongside Sally Barkow and Debbie Capozzi.

By 2005, the team had competed in several world-class regattas, including the 4th Yngling Women's World Championship, 6th US SAILING's Rolex Miami OCR/Miami, and 1st HRH Princess Sofia Trophy/Palma de Mallorca. Their victories stemmed from their unity, understanding, and unwavering determination.

In preparation for the Olympics, Howe emphasized the importance of focus, endurance, and determination. She has participated in numerous prestigious events, including the 1st US SAILING's Rolex Miami OCR, 2nd Yngling North American Championship/Miami, and 4th The Good Luck Beijing.

Olympic Aspirations

Howe's list of accomplishments will soon be joined by the 2008 Olympics. She and her team aspire to represent the United States with pride and to achieve success on the world stage.
