Early Life and Struggles

Born into a Hungarian-Portuguese family in São Caetano do Sul, Cássia embarked on a tumultuous journey at an early age. At 15, she left home and lived with a friend, struggling to make ends meet by working as an office cleaner and studying at night. During this challenging period, she succumbed to drug use, indulging in psychedelic mushrooms and cannabis. However, realizing the gravity of her situation, she overcame her addiction within five years.

Arrival in Rio and Artistic Breakthrough

In her early twenties, Cássia moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she initially lived on a park bench. Her fortunes changed when she encountered poet Sérgio Natureza, who offered her shelter and support. To earn a living, she sold sandwiches and cookies on the beach.

Cássia's path took an unexpected turn when she became drawn to meditation. She worked as a toilet cleaner in exchange for spiritual teachings from a guru. In 1981, she approached studio director Henrique Martins and was given a chance to prove herself as an actress. Her exceptional skills earned her numerous television roles.

Personal Life and Relationships
