She graduated from Trinity College, Washington, D.C. in 1966.

Early Career

Katie Black began her career as an advertising sales executive for American magazines. However, her breakthrough came in 1979 when she became the head of the New York magazine, a weekly guide to the entertainment world of New York.

Leadership Roles

In 1983, Black took over as the CEO of USA TODAY, the largest national daily newspaper in the United States, where she led the publication for eight years. From 1991 to 1995, she served as the president of the Newspaper Association of America.
