Cecilia Rothemberg, also known as Cecilia Roth, was born on August 8, 1956, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is an Argentine actress who is currently considered one of the most popular Spanish-speaking actresses. Roth has appeared in films produced in Spain, Argentina, and Mexico.

Early Life and Career
Roth's father, a Ukrainian Jew, worked as an editor and journalist. While working in Argentina, he met Roth's mother, Dina Roth, a Chilean singer. Roth began her acting career with small roles in several TV shows. After working on several major projects in Argentina, she moved to Spain in 1976, where she began her long and fruitful collaboration with acclaimed director Pedro Almodóvar.

Collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar
Roth has appeared in six of Almodóvar's films, taking on lead, supporting, and cameo roles. She starred in his first film, "Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón" (Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Girls Like Mom). She also appeared in the eccentric comedy "Laberinto de pasiones" (Labyrinth of Passion) and the cult black comedy "Entre tinieblas" (Dark Habits). In 1999, Roth and Almodóvar collaborated once again on the film "All About My Mother," which received critical acclaim and numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Later Career and Personal Life
After returning to Argentina in 1995, Roth began participating in television projects. Despite this, she maintained her connection with Almodóvar, and they worked together again in 1999. Roth gained widespread recognition for her role in "All About My Mother." She received numerous awards for her performance, including a Goya Award.
Roth was previously married to Argentine musician Fito Paez, with whom she adopted a child. Although they are now divorced, they maintain a good relationship. Paez even wrote a song titled "Cecilia," dedicated to Roth, and their joint child appears on one of Paez's album covers. Roth is also the sister of Ariel Roth, a member of the now-defunct band "Los Rodríguez."
Currently, Roth is considered one of the most popular Spanish-speaking actresses and continues to appear in films produced in Spain, Argentina, and Mexico. She has been honored with two Goya Awards for Best Actress in 1998 and 2000. In 1997, she received the official title of "Best Actress of Spain" from the Spanish government.
