Early Life and Education
Born on October 19, 1996, in Los Angeles, Chance Perdomo spent his formative years in Southampton, England. Of Dominican, Guatemalan, and African-American descent, Perdomo identified as a Black child raised by a Latina mother in a predominantly White environment. His close bond with his mother, Monica, a businesswoman and hotel owner, shaped his childhood. Despite meeting his biological father only at age 20, this encounter significantly influenced his self-discovery.
Perdomo attended Redbridge Community School, where he served as head boy and discovered his passion for theater. He continued his education at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, becoming the sixth-form president of the student union. Initially intending to pursue law, he ultimately decided to explore acting.
Acting Career
Inspired by cinema and theater from a young age, Perdomo honed his craft with the National Youth Theatre and Identity School of Acting. His screen debut came in 2017 in the children's drama "Hetty Feather." Following a string of supporting roles in television series and short films, he landed a lead role in the drama "Killed by My Debt" and a recurring role in Netflix's "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina."
The former earned him a BAFTA nomination, while the latter saw him included in Variety's "10 Brits to Watch in 2020." Perdomo's filmography expanded with the "After" franchise based on Anna Todd's novels. In fall 2023, he starred in the superhero series "Gen V," an extension of "The Boys" comic book series. His portrayal of Andre Anderson, a character with Magneto-like magnetic abilities, showcased his ability to delve into complex characters.
Personal Life
Known for his British and American citizenship, Perdomo kept his personal life private. His Instagram account primarily featured self-portraits and work-related posts, with occasional glimpses of his beloved mother. Rumors of a romance with co-star Tati Gabrielle and speculation about his sexual orientation remained unsubstantiated.
