Biography of Charlie Ogletree
Charlie Ogletree, a skilled American sailor, was born on October 11, 1967, in Kemah, Texas. He began his sailing career at a young age, spending most of his time training since the age of six. Ogletree attended Tabor Academy and later Old Dominion University, where he completed his education in 1989, earning a degree.
Achievements
Ogletree is currently a member of the US Sailing Team Alphagraphics and a member of the prestigious Newport Harbor Yacht Club/Houston Yacht Club. He has participated in the Olympics before, winning a silver medal in 2004 alongside the renowned sailor John Lovell. Ogletree hopes to continue his success at the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and add another significant victory to his list of accomplishments.
Some of Ogletree's most memorable races include the 2nd Tornado World Championship, 2nd Semaine Olympique Francaise de Voile, 2nd Olympic Regatta, and 1st Tornado North American Championship in 2004. In 2005, he achieved notable results in the 8th Tornado World Championship/La Rochelle, 6th Tornado European Championship, 2nd Hobie 33 North American Championship, and 1st US SAILING's Rolex Miami OCR. In 2007, Ogletree competed in the 10th ISAF Sailing World Championships and won 1st place in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Sailing in San Diego.
Current Endeavors
Currently, Ogletree and his partner, John Lovell, spend more time training than ever before, having been sailing together for fifteen years. Their goal is to achieve another victory and showcase their high level of skill and professionalism to the world.
In addition to their sailing careers, both athletes excel as family men and have successful businesses in their respective fields.
