Chen Qingzu: The Bra Collector with a Mission
Chen Qingzu is a Chinese man with a rather unusual hobby: collecting bras. Over the course of 20 years, he has amassed a collection of over 5,000 bras, and the acquisitions continue to grow.
Inspired by a Tragedy
Chen's passion for bra collecting stems from a tragedy he witnessed during his hospital internship. Seeing the suffering of women affected by breast cancer, he became aware of the potential link between ill-fitting bras and the disease.
A Mission for Women's Health
Determined to raise awareness about this issue, Chen embarked on his mission of collecting bras. He would visit colleges and universities, giving lectures on breast cancer prevention and emphasizing the importance of proper bra fit. Inspired by his lectures, many students donated their "incorrect" bras, adding to Chen's collection.
The Brassiere Museum
Chen's collection has since grown to over 5,000 pieces. He plans to establish a "Brassiere Museum," where he will showcase his collection and educate the public about the connection between bra fit and breast health. Admission to the museum, he promises, will be free for women.
Despite Skepticism, a Unique Collection
Despite facing criticism from those who question his motives, Chen insists that he has no personal interest in collecting bras. His sole purpose, he maintains, is to promote women's health. Nevertheless, his unusual collection has made him a figure of both fascination and skepticism.
A Symbol of Prevention
Regardless of the skepticism surrounding his methods, Chen's collection stands as a unique testament to his dedication to raising awareness about breast cancer. The thousands of colorful bras adorning the walls of his home serve as a constant reminder of the importance of proper bra fit in protecting women's health.
