Biography of Christine Poon

Christine Poon is a prominent figure in the corporate world, having achieved impressive results and multimillion-dollar incomes. In 2007, she was recognized as one of the thirty most influential women in business by Fortune magazine. Forbes also included her in their list of the most influential women in 2007.

Born in Brentwood, Missouri, Christine Poon obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Northwest University. She then went on to earn a Master's degree in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of St. Louis, as well as an M.B.A. in Finance from Boston University. Currently, Poon is married and resides in Princeton.

Poon is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Johnson & Johnson, a company known for its pharmaceutical products, which contribute to a significant portion of the company's revenue. She has been with the company since November 2000, starting as the Director of the Pharmaceutical Division. In August 2001, she was elected as the head of the international pharmaceutical division. In October 2003, Poon became the Director of the division responsible for the production of pharmaceutical and vitamin products. Two years later, she assumed the position of Vice Chairman of the Board and, in April 2005, she joined the Board of Directors of Johnson & Johnson.

Prior to her career at Johnson & Johnson, Christine Poon worked for fifteen years at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Here, she rose to the position of President of International Pharmaceuticals, overseeing marketing and strategic planning for the company. In 1990, Poon became the Vice President of Production Planning for cardiovascular treatment products. Two years later, she was elected Vice President and General Manager of Squibb Diagnostics, and then Vice President and General Manager of the Canadian Surgical Division of the company. From 1997 to 1998, Poon served as the head of the Medical Equipment Department.

In addition to her role at Johnson & Johnson, Christine Poon serves on the Board of Directors of Prudential Financial, Inc. in Newark, as well as the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
