Early Professional Career
Burgi's first professional gig came as a member of the band Fandango, where he performed alongside singer and guitarist Joe Lynn Turner. After a departure from Fandango in 1975, Burgi collaborated with renowned guitarist Al Di Meola. In 1977, he joined the progressive fusion group Brand X, showcasing his versatile drumming style.
Returning to Fandango and Further Collaborations
In 1979, Burgi returned to Fandango, where he continued to hone his skills as a highly sought-after session drummer. His subsequent collaborations included Balance, Hall & Oates, Michael Bolton, Meat Loaf, and Blue Öyster Cult.
