Cynthia Kay McWilliams: Biography
Early Life and EducationCynthia Kay McWilliams was born in Berlin, Germany. She grew up primarily in Kansas City, Kansas, in the United States. McWilliams later attended the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago before relocating to Los Angeles, California.
Career Beginnings
McWilliams began her acting career in small roles. In 2005, she landed a recurring role as Casey Franklin, C-Note's wife, in the Fox drama series "Prison Break." She also appeared in the film "The Lake House" (2006) and starred in the independent films "Boys and Men" and "One Little Hitch."
Breakout Roles
In 2011, McWilliams played the character of Lilly Beauchamp in the short-lived Fox crime series "The Chicago Code." She also provided the voice of Misty Knight in the 2013 video game Marvel Heroes. From 2013 to 2016, McWilliams portrayed attorney Trina Shaw in the BET comedy series "Real Husbands of Hollywood."
Leading Role Success
After a decade of supporting roles, McWilliams finally secured a lead role in the 2015 NBC drama pilot "Love is Four-Letter Word." She also appeared in the video game Halo 5: Guardians (2015) as Spartan Holly Tanaka, cementing her status as a versatile and in-demand actress.
