Cynthia Rothrock is a renowned actress known as the queen of kung fu cinema. Born in the United States in 1957, Rothrock began practicing martial arts at the age of 14 under the influence of her friends. Despite initial doubts about her potential, her dedicated training yielded excellent results.
Rise to Fame
In the years 1981-1985, Rothrock held the title of champion in the United States Karate Championship, even competing against male opponents. She also demonstrated her skills with various weapons and became the first female martial arts master to have her portraits featured on magazine covers.
Entrance into the Film Industry
Rothrock made her debut in the film industry in 1985 in Hong Kong, specifically at the "Golden Harvest" studio. Her first film, "Shanghai Express," starred Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, two prominent Hong Kong actors. Rothrock was initially cast in a role that was intended for a male actor, but the creators of the film were so impressed with her performance that they altered the script. With this achievement, Rothrock became the first Western actress to appear in Hong Kong action films.

Rothrock spent five years in Hong Kong, working on various films produced by Sammo Hung. Although she missed the opportunity to work with Jackie Chan in the film "Armor of God" due to unforeseen circumstances, Rothrock went on to star in more than 30 films released in both the United States and Hong Kong.
