Early Life and Education

Born in Rathfarnham, Ireland, on December 1, 1992, Daniel Galligan is an Irish actress, theater director, and poet whose artistic talents are complemented by her active social conscience. From a young age, she performed in the Ann Kavanagh Youth Theatre and received the Annie Burke scholarship to attend the Betty Ann Norton Theatre School, where notable Irish celebrities such as Amy Huberman and Dervla Kirwan trained. Galligan furthered her acting education at Trinity College Dublin and the Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2015 with a BA in Acting.

Theater and Film Career

Galligan's career began in Irish theaters, where she performed as a dramatic actress, singer, director, dancer, and co-writer for plays. In 2019, she made guest appearances in the iconic television series "Game of Thrones" and "Krypton." Galligan continued to participate in short films, such as the 9-minute drama "Break Us If You Can," showcasing her versatility in portraying characters from different backgrounds.

Her breakout role came in the Finnish TV series "Cold Courage," which explored the friendship of two women amidst the passions of the fictional nationalist movement "Fair Power." In April 2021, Netflix premiered the first season of "Shadow and Bone," based on Leigh Bardugo's novels. Galligan played the heartrender Nina Zenik, a woman kidnapped by the Druskelle gang led by Matthias Helvar, portrayed by Calahan Skogman.
