Birth and Family
Daniel Gogolev was born in 1811 in the Megezek наслеg, Vilyuisk District, Yakutsk Region. He was a wealthy merchant and inherited his family's fortune. His father was Anton Osipovich Gogolev, and his wife was Anna Ilyina Gogoleva. They had four daughters and one son, Alexei Daniilovich Gogolev (who ruled as prince of the Megezek region from 1861 to 1874).
Lineage and Origin
There is no concrete documentary evidence regarding the Gogolev family's origin. However, oral traditions passed down by elders suggest a lineage connecting them to the legendary shamanic figure Khantegar Bygy. The lineage is said to have passed through the following individuals:

- Daniil Gogolev
Rule as Prince
In 1835, Daniil Gogolev became the first prince of the Megezek наслеg. He served in this position until his death in 1874.
Death and Legacy
Daniil Gogolev died on March 11, 1874, in the Megezek наслеg, Marhinsk ulus, Yakutsk Region. His death was attributed to delirium tremens caused by excessive alcohol consumption. His tombstone, located in the "Kharyia Tumula" cemetery, reads: "Beneath this stone lie the remains of Daniil Gogolev, a foreigner who lived for 63 years and passed away on March 11, 1874. May the Lord rest the soul of Your servant."
